Eight Versa was appointed by Grosvenor as the Energy Specialist and BREEAM Accredited Professional for the refurbishment of a listed Georgian terraced property, 119 Ebury Street – the UK’s first listed building to achieve a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating at design stage, for which it received a 2015 BREEAM Award.
The conversion of the former hotel into three duplex apartments is testament to the feasibility of achieving BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ in a heritage context and to Grosvenor’s position as a leader in sustainable conservation.
The project’s comprehensive sustainability features include mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, greywater recycling and rainwater harvesting, vapour-permeable solid wall insulation, vacuum glazing, and photovoltaic and solar thermal energy generation.
