Project Overview

Eight Versa is partnering with Related Argent to deliver ecological consultancy services for multiple development plots within the Brent Cross Town masterplan regeneration – one of the largest and most ambitious mixed-use developments in Europe. Our role is to integrate ecological best practice into the design and delivery process, ensuring that each plot contributes meaningfully to the scheme’s long-term biodiversity objectives.

Embedding Ecology into Design and Delivery

Our work includes undertaking Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Bat Roost Assessments to identify key ecological constraints and opportunities, and providing targeted recommendations for mitigation, enhancement, and further survey work where required. In parallel, we are delivering Biodiversity Net Gain assessments using the Defra Metric to quantify habitat change, collaborating closely with landscape architects and design teams to create and implement viable on-site enhancements and planting strategies. This approach is used to secure at least a 10% net gain in biodiversity while strengthening ecological connectivity and the wider green infrastructure network.

Achieving Biodiversity Net Gain and BREEAM Excellence

We are also leading on the Land Use and Ecology category (LE 02 to LE 05) for BREEAM UK New Construction V6 assessments. This includes early-stage strategic advice to maximise credit potential, detailed reviews of soft landscape proposals, and preparation of BREEAM-compliant Landscape and Ecology Management Plans. Our input is embedded into regular design team meetings and technical reviews to ensure biodiversity objectives are fully aligned with the broader sustainability ambitions of the Brent Cross Town development.

Through this partnership, Eight Versa and Related Argent are helping to shape a “park town” that places green infrastructure, ecological resilience, and long-term environmental value at the heart of a complex, multi-phase regeneration programme.
