Eight Versa acted as the Sustainability Consultant for Calvin Klein to secure a BREEAM International Excellent certification for a new store in Köln, Germany.
It was decided that the BREEAM International RFO methodology would provide the most suitable green building -certification for this retail scheme. Responsible construction practices and sustainable material sourcing were targeted and monitored during construction which required careful logging and management by the contractor. Site Waste Management practises and material efficiency were key to the client brief, the project excelled in all of these areas and a site waste recycling rate of 94% was achieved at completion.
Eight Versa successfully guided the project team through the BREEAM requirements which were a new concept to many members of the project team. With careful project management all of the targeted credits were achieved with a comfortable Excellent rating of 76%.
